The 5C's of Christmas
From Leaderpedia

Our cX based ladies group is taking a break for a few weeks during the holiday, but I didn't want them to "forget".
They all received a gift bag with a journal with directed devotions and gifts related to the 5Cs.
Christ (red candle--red for his shed blood and a candle because He is the light of the world). Read Matt. 1: 18-25. Meditate on "Immanuel--God with us" How can you be more aware of God with you? Meditate especially on verse 21--think about the imperatives and possessives in this verse. What are your imperatives in Christ this week?
Community (a picture frame)--Read Romans 16 several times, noting significant relationships. Now take time to write your own "Romans 16" as if it were a chain letter to circulate among your friends.
Character (Godiva chocolates) Our character comes from God's character. Lev 11:44, 20:26 and 1 Peter 1:16 all call us (our character) to be holy, as God is holy. Read and copy Isaiah 64:8--how can your character yield to the potter this week? Read and copy Romans 12:2, and Col. 2: 8 and 20--what are you allowing to transform your character--are you becoming more like His character by being with Him, or the world? Read and copy 2 Cor. 12:9--we are made perfect (holy) in our yielded weakness--practice yielding this week. Our mind, our character is made new by Him. We must keep our hearts like clay, and allow Him to make our minds new. Meditate on Phil. 2: 5-11
Calling (a dishcloth (we are called to serve))-- Read John 14: 8-10--who is working? Read Eph. 4: 11-13 Who gives us our abilities? For what purpose? Think about the gifts of God's grace that you have received---how is He using them to build HIs body?
Competencies (the journal)--Read Prv 22:29--what are your skills and who are your "kings". Ecc 2: 10 and 24-27 tell us that our work is satisfying only when done for the Lord. Please pray and meditate on this. Who (or what) are you working for?Read Psalm 78:70-72--Where has God brought you from to serve Him now? What specific skills need to develop to serve Him and your "kings" better in 2010?
