1.a. In your group, describe what happens to you when one part of your body is not feeling well or functioning properly.

1.b. What principles can you carry over to the Body of Christ when one member is not functioning properly?

2. Group share: Read 1 Cor 12:14-27. What insights do you have about the Body of Christ?

3. Group share: God designed the Body of Christ in such a way that there should be no place for an inferior spirit, a superior attitude, unhealthy competition or comparison (1 Cor 12:14-27) but that the members of the Body would care for each other. Can you give examples of how using your spiritual gifts have been able to care for someone and or how you have been cared for?

4. Individual: Ask the Holy Spirit if you have any relationship within the Body of Christ that you are not treating a brother or sister in Christ well. What do you need to confess and repent of? What will you do to change?

5. Group share: God is at work in each one of our lives to mature us individually and also corporately (Eph 4:11-16). What role do you have in helping the Body of Christ mature and grow up in all aspects unto Christ?

6. Individual: How are you using your spiritual gifts, passions, burdens, abilities, talents, experience in a loving way to build up the Body of Christ? Ask your group for suggestions on how and where you may be able to improve your service.

7. Individual/Group: God chose the Body of Christ to make Christ known to the world (1 Peter 2:9, 2 Cor 5:17-20). God is building His people to care for each other, to mature us into Christ-likeness and has included us in the advancement of His reign and rule (His Kingdom). What *redemptive cause has God put on your heart, or what just cause burdens your heart? What will you do to move yourself out of your comfort zone and into the arena of this godly cause? When?

(*by redemptive I mean joining in God’s work of reconciling people to God - 2 Cor 5:18-20)

8. Individual/Group: Pray when you are together and or separate Jesus’ prayer: “Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Ask the Lord to start with you — that you would come under His rule and reign and that His will would be accomplished in you today.
