Calling Learning Collage

Time frame: 2 hours on Sunday after church

Preparation time: 1 week previous e-mail to participants

Preparation:

(S) Please read John 10 every day prior to our time together--meditate on “the shepherd’s voice”.

Meditate on the following verses, asking the Holy Spirit to give you insight:

Col. 4: 17: Tell Archippus: “See to it that you complete the work you have received from the Lord.”

2 Tim. 4:5: But you, keep your head in all situations; endure hardship do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

Ps. 78: 70: He chose David his servant, and took him from the sheep pens.

During the time together:

Share in one word what you love doing the most--the activity and the context .
Share about 10 minutes from “SpiritBuilt Leadership #2” on calling .
Dessert is served--challenge everyone to eat a few bites with their non-dominant hand--ask to share how they felt about that challenge, and what relevance the experience might have to a teaching time on “calling”.

With your neighbor, verbalize what you percieve as your current calling and (S)  share about 10 minutes on the difference between gifts, talents, and abilities .
Ask a few to share a few dramatic “successes” and “failures” in their mininstry/life and draw out contributing factors--use board to show mingling of factors.

Share about 5 minutes on the relationship of the 5C’s  and (R) with your neighbor, pray, asking God to more clearly define and refine your calling at this time.

Homework: Study the various lists of spiritual gifts (Romans 12, 1 Cor 12, Eph 4, and 1 Peter 4). Write and refine your calling to 50 words or less (fit on a sticky note). Study various woman’s calling in the Bible.

And of course, don’t forget the most important relational dynamic when working with females: the shoppingal dynamic!!
