Project #1

This learning experience is designed for someone that has already confirmed a direct calling to the business world as a Christian Leader.

Listed below are several suggested learning experiences that should be completed to lay the groundwork for this project.

3. Personal Life Story Exercise#1

• Find a local Christian businessman that is willing to commit to spending several hours each week with you over the next month (4 weeks) to mentor you (mentor must be 40+ years old).
• Find someone (a Christian) your age that also has a calling to business. Together compile the biblical references to being a Christian Business leader that you already know (Learning Partner).
• Together with your learning partner (over the next month) study the entire book of Proverbs; compile a list of verses that contain a piece of wisdom or a thought that could apply to you as a Christian Businessman.
• Together Study James chapter 5:1-8,
• Together with you mentor and learning partner engage in a study of the following scriptures in the order that they appear:

1. Romans 6:4
2. 1st Timothy 6:13
3. John 1:3
4. Revelation 21:6
5. Revelation 22:13
6. Philippians 2:8
7. Matthew 16:24
8. Romans 6:3-4
9. Romans 6:4

1. What is the running theme in these scriptures?
2. What did Jesus (The ONLY perfect human) do for us?
3. Was Jesus’ life a waste?
4. Through the death of Christ what is now offered to us?
5. Why did Christ come to earth as a human?
6. Did He accomplish what He set out to achieve?
7. What then (Considering this) should our hope be in?
8. Will God call you to: A: Build your kingdom. B: Build His kingdom.
9. When we look at these scriptures we see that we find life through surrender; does this apply to your business?
10. Will our lives be a waste if all we ever achieve is the winning of souls for Christ?

Meet with your mentor and discuss the following mindsets. Afterwards write a 300+ word paper on your findings. Use at least 10 sound scriptural points within your paper.

True or false: God wants us to surrender our business abilities to Him.

1. True or false: When we surrender our abilities to God He takes them away and we never get to use them.
2. True or False: Someone that is truly called to business spends his/her entire life on earning money as their sole focus.
3. True or false: Someone that is truly called to business has a central focus on reaching people for Christ through their calling.
   

• Write out your personal testimony. How did you find Christ? What is the biggest impact Christ has had on your life? How has God moved on your family / friends?
• Share your testimony to both your mentor and learning partner.
• Immediately after completing this project begin the “Passion for the lost Project".

Write a vision for your personal career / business. This should cover the following points:

1. How could you impact your community, employees, coworkers, employers, business contacts, clients, etc.?
2. What is one area of ministry that you are passionate about? How could your business impact and aid that ministry?
3. How does your call to business fit hand in glove with your motivated abilities? Do you have the gift of giving? Will your accomplishments work to finance your own ministry or an existing ministry?

Finally, as you finish this project meet with your mentor for a time of prayer and seeking God for your life.
